IPL requires a contrast between the hair pigment (melanin) and the skin tone.

Works on: Naturally dark blonde, brown, and black hair. Skin tones ranging from very white to dark brown.
Does NOT work on: Red, light-blonde, or white/grey hair. It is also not suitable for very dark skin (Type VI), as the device cannot distinguish between the hair and the skin's high melanin content, which could cause burns.
